Automaker Proton and wireless carrier Yes, both based in Malaysia, have announced their collaboration to come up with a line of 4G-connected cars. Apart in providing a WiFi hotspot for passengers, the project aims to utilize the 4G connectivity for multiple automotive-related applications such as vehicle diagnostics, security, and GPS. Yes is Malaysia's leading wireless provider, covering over 65 percent of the country as well as the whole 960 kilometers of its North-South Expressway and a “large portion” of its East-Coast Expressway.
