Next Batmobile to be built by GM?

Next Batmobile to be built by GM?

Batman is a superhero known primarily for his cool gadgets, and over the years his cars have deservingly received a lot of attention. On the big (and small) screen, the Batmobile has evolved with each new director of movies and television shows, and this trend will continue with the next Batman movie (in which the Dark Knight will be portrayed by Ben Affleck) expected in 2015. According to enthusiast site Batman on Film, the next Batmobile is currently being designed by General Motors, and that an "old Cadillac" will be prominently featured in the movie.

GDR3 Update For HTC 8X And 8XT Allows For Charging While Device Is Off

Background photos can be pulled from Facebook. Just the other day it was reported that the AT&T HTC 8X received the Windows Phone GDR3 update, along with its international variant, as well as the HTC 8XT from Sprint. While the Windows Phone GDR3 update does bring about a host of new features and improvements, here's one that we're not sure if Windows Phone users might have missed. It seems that with the GDR3 update, HTC 8X and HTC 8XT users will now be able to power off their devices while allowing their phone to charge.

New Zealand motorcycle race nearly sets town ablaze [UPDATE]

New Zealand motorcycle race nearly sets town ablaze [UPDATE]

In Greymouth, New Zealand, a legal street race is held annually for amateur motorcycle riders, and we assume it's not every year that a last-lap motorcycle crash threatens to set the town ablaze. But that's what happened last Sunday when a Ducati rider lost control and high-sided his bike. Graham Boyd was following close behind on his modified Yamaha R6 and plowed into the Ducati, breaking the gas tank, spraying fuel everywhere and catching it all on video thanks to a helmet cam.

Fun with the Nexus 5: dummy units leaking everywhere, 3D renders and GIFs result

We have a good feeling tomorrow Google will have something very special in store for us (call it a hunch). Until then, we lay in wait, drooling over the countless Nexus 5 leaks spewing forth from the far reaches of the internet. Take this dummy unit obtained by a gentleman on Instagram. Apparently, after spending a day with said unit, he came up with a nice 3D render where he shot a quick video, uploaded, then quickly took down.
No big deal, we have the video right here for ya. Not too long after, we discovered this very convincing GIF of a Nexus 5 created by a fan (it's not official).

Audi Sport Quattro Concept makes video debut

Audi Sport Quattro Concept makes video debut

Audi has stayed quiet about its Sport Quattro Concept since the 700-horsepower, tangerine rocket debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show – a followup to Quattro Concept shown at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Now, Audi has broken the plug-in hybrid out to give thanks to its Facebook fans, which now number over 100,000 strong (103,123 as of this writing). As impressive as that number is, it does seem a bit strange that Audi USA's Facebook page has netted 7.3 million likes, 73 times what Audi's global page has received. Of course, we're not complaining about seeing the Sport Quattro Concept in action, and neither should you.

17,000 Nexus 7 Tablets Donated By Google To Victims Of Hurricane Sandy

We've seen companies contribute to charitable causes in the past, we've also seen them help out when tragedy has struck due to natural causes. Take Hurricane Sandy for example, believed to be the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the season last year, as well as the second costliest hurricane in the history of the U.S. To help out the victims, Samsung donated $3 million, Apple contributed $2.5 million and Goal Zero managed to bring $600000 worth of portable power products to bring power to the affectees.

Shelby GT500 laps Nürburgring in under 7:40?

Shelby GT500 laps Nürburgring in under 7:40?

A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife. Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of – that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit.

Titanfall Completely Exclusive To Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC; Sequel May Not Be

One of the most highly anticipated games of the next-generation of consoles has to be Titanfall. The shooter will be exclusive to Microsoft platforms as it's expected to be released March 2014 on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC machines, which means future owners of the PlayStation 4 will unfortunately be missing out on the game. Although you shouldn't completely count a Titalfall game making its way to other platforms out of the realm of possibility. Electronic Arts' CFO Blake Jorgensen said Titanfall is completely exclusive to the Xbox platform, which includes the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

Julie's gadget diary - A week with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Back in March of this year, I test drove a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for a couple weeks to see if a phablet was the right device for me. If you're not hip to the latest gadget lingo, the term phablet refers to smartphones that approach tablet dimensions. I came away with mixed feelings from my experience with the Note 2. I loved the 5.5″ display and S Pen, but found the device too large to carry around comfortably. Now it's 7 months later and Verizon Wireless has offered to let me try the successor to the Note 2, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Has this new phablet changed my mind? Let's find out.

Barnes & Noble's Nook GlowLight is lighter, brighter, whiter, with less Simple Touch for $119

Gone, sadly, are the physical page-turn buttons Barnes & Noble held onto for so long. And while the touchscreen is plenty responsive, we did always appreciate the option. Also ditched this time out is the concave back we liked on the Simple Touch models. We're told that the company no longer found it necessary in order to provide the most ergonomic experience, though we suspect it just jumped at the opportunity to make the device a bit thinner overall. That said, the reader's a pleasure to hold, thanks in no small part to its light weight.

We have seen the ambitions Phonebloks concept in the past. But what if one of those companies decided to take the idea and do something about it. Presenting the Motorola Ara, a modular phone concept that might actually become real one day.

Google VP announces Google+ event for tomorrow morning, will live stream to the world

It's not directly Android related, but that doesn't mean you wont find something of value during tomorrow's live streaming Google+ event. Google VP Vic Gundotra announced the G+ event scheduled for 9:30am tomorrow morning where it's being called “A Morning, with Google+”. Looks like this may have been what both Vic and Sundar were losing sleep over the other night. We're not sure exactly what Vic has in store for tomorrow's event, but we're really hoping Hangouts with SMS integration is at least one of the announcements to be revealed in the AM.

Google Chrome OS Updates Indicate Chrome Tablets Could Be Coming [Report]

Chrome OS looks like it's starting to make its way across a number of products as HP recently unveiled its Chromebook 11 and companies like LG are expected to launch their own products featuring Google's operating system. Laptops and desktops aren't the only products expected to be released with Chrome OS as Chrome tablets may be headed to market sooner than you think. At this time, there's only one Chomebook that features a touchscreen, the Chromebook Pixel. So why is it that Google continues to make improvements to its virtual keyboard which is built into Chrome OS, especially since the Chromebook Pixel has a physical keyboard.

Alcatel OneTouch Pop Tablets Leaked

While Alcatel might not necessarily be a name one thinks of when it comes to smartphones and tablets (admittedly they did pretty well for themselves during the days of feature phones), it does not mean that the company should stop trying and thanks to a recently leaked press render, thanks to @evleaks, it seems that we might be able to look forward to new Alcatel OneTouch Pop tablets in the near future. These tablets appear to be part of the company's OneTouch Pop family where previously they had released smartphones under that lineup.

Toyota fills in details about its future design direction and global platform

"In the future, out of 100 customers, we want to excite ten of them instead of not offending all 100.". Previously, each car was conceived on its own, so Toyota couldn't extract savings from cars that were close in size. The Etios, sold in Latin America and India, is not much smaller than the Corolla, but the two compacts had two different lead engineers, so they have different hip points and require different manufacturing processes and different kinds of commodity parts like seat belt equipment.

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible caught topless

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible caught topless

The first snowflakes of the season are falling in the Detroit area, but Ford engineers are busy testing out the convertible version of 2015 Mustang. With the amount of camouflage Ford has been using to cover up the next-gen Mustang, it's quite possible we've already unknowingly seen the Mustang Convertible out and about, but this is our first clear look of the droptop model. As an added bonus, these spy shots show the Mustang Convertible with its top both up and down. Even though there is still heavy camouflage – and a guardrail – obscuring the body of this Mustang, the top is completely uncovered.

I don't play any action / arcade games on my smartphone, but that might change after seeing the BowBlade controller for iPod Touch, iPhone and Android smartphones. Install a compatible game, attach your device to the BowBlade with the specially designed clip and you're ready to immerse yourself in the game. The BowBlade not only provides a richer gaming experience, but it exercises your arms, chest, back and shoulders while you're playing. You have to pull back on the bow (12-17 lbs. of resistance) before you can pull the trigger, which is a stylus tip connected to a retractable line.

Google finally launching an LTE-enabled Nexus 4?

Google finally launching an LTE-enabled Nexus 4?

Don't get me started on a lack of LTE in the Nexus 4. While there is no use crying over milk that has spilled and gone sour, it's no secret that I thought a lack of LTE at launch was a major blow for the handset. Sure, some folks found workarounds that took advantage of certain LTE-capable components installed in the Nexus 4, but there was never a true 4G option beyond that. Will that soon change.
A Bluetooth SIG filing suggests Google and LG might finally bring forth an LTE-ready Nexus 4. The interesting part is that the filing is for a handset with the same model number as the original, the LG E960.

Samsung And LG Allegedly Caught In The Act Of Industrial Electricity Theft

Samsung And LG Allegedly Caught In The Act Of Industrial Electricity Theft

In South Korea, there are two different kinds of electricity pricing tiers. The more affordable one between the two is meant for industrial use only, and that would mean manufacturing, mining, and other production equipment and facilities (factories included). Apart from that, there is also the standard priced electricity, which is meant for offices, R&D centers, and general purpose buildings among others. Well, this is certainly cause for temptation, as some companies have been discovered to have used the cheap 'industrial' electricity for 'normal' usage.

“I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!”  Remember this quote from  the 1976 movie Network.  It sums up my feelings about the present state of pay-TV providers and forced me to do something about the ever increasing fees and poor customer service.  Thanks to Aereo, I've been able to dump the TV portion of my cable bill and now have a much better level of service and a reduced cost.  While this service may not be for everyone, it does merit a look, so let's do it.So what is Aereo.
