The first smartphone to sport an Intel processor and actually go on sale has just been announced. Interestingly, it's not Lenovo's K800, or a device made by Motorola, or even the Orange Santa Clara that we saw back at MWC. No, this comes from Indian phone maker Lava, and it's called the XOLO X900. It's powered by Intel's ‘Medfield' Atom Z2460 processor, clocked at 1.6 GHz. Although it's a single-core part, past benchmarks have shown that it's capable of holding its own against the multi-core ARM competition.

The XOLO X900 will be available in India on April 23, and will cost around Rs.22,000 (approximately $423 or €322).
