When Apple first announced Siri, it was initially met with positive feedback based on the demonstrations performed on stage, but in real life Siri just did not live up to expectations, leading Apple to deal with lawsuits and claims that Siri was being falsely advertised. Siri was then revealed to be in "beta" which would explain why it was not performing optimally and the beta tagline was usually found on the bottom of the Siri page on Apple's website, where it reads, "Siri is available in Beta only on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad with Retina display, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access.".
