With the launch of Apple's third-generation iPad with a brand new Retina display and LTE connectivity, many had speculated and logically assumed that the next-generation iPhone would also feature LTE connectivity. This is apparently a sentiment shared by Barclays who revealed in their research memo that Apple is currently evaluating potential parts for their next-gen iPhone. According to the memo, it seems that one of Apple's considerations includes the Qualcomm MDM9615 chipset which allows for both voice and data over LTE. This is different from the Qualcomm MDM9600 chipset used in the third-generation iPad that allows for data only.
