You know something. The more complex phones get, the chances are higher for them to experience issues with the software as well as hardware. I remember back in the mid- to late-1990s, where featurephones ruled the world, and you never really needed to flash your handset with the latest firmware, as it worked well enough for years on end until the phone gives up the ghost. These days, software and firmware updates are issued all too often, fixing a bug here and correcting a hardware issue there, and it is a safe bet to assume that smartphones comprise of the majority of software updates.
