I guess $22.5 million is just a drop in the ocean for a company like Google, but it is still some serious money to those who are on the receiving end. Today, we have word that the Internet search giant, Google, has been ordered to fork out $22.5 million in fines surrounding privacy issues, and by itself is a new record by virtue of being the largest ever fine related to an FTC complaint. Basically, this slap on the wrist will result in a settlement of U.S. government charges that Google actually violated privacy laws when it used cookies in Apple's Safari browser to track users.
